Looking for Sunshine

Do any of you watch "Sarah's House" on HGTV. I love to catch it when I can. A while back she did a master bedroom using a yellow and white quilt from an antique fair as the inspiration item. As soon as I saw it, I knew that a yellow and white quilt was a MUST for me!

This project (like most projects) had to be filed in the back of my mind for a while. There's always a project to do for the shop, or I need to finish a project to find the top of the table, or I haven't discovered the perfect design to go with my BIG IDEA! This time....the delay was due to all of the above.

Then, in the middle of the gray, cold, LONG winter...everything became as clear as day for my own yellow and white quilt. I started gathering fabrics and cutting feverishly! The pattern had just arrived and was perfect. It is "Mulitfaceted" by Cozy Quilt Design. It has so much movement and interest...I love it! It uses my favorite template, the "strip tube ruler." Pieces continued to fall in place. My dear friend and talented machine quilter, Jan of "Prairie Queen Quilting" brought in new quilting designs. THERE IT WAS....the perfect design! It is dandelions blowing in the wind. (I believe it is a Kim Diamond design.)

Working on this quilt was absolute therapy during this long winter. I could practically feel the warmth coming off the yellows! Today I am adding the final border and will send it to Jan to be quilted. I look forward to seeing it hanging in the shop this summer and curling up with it this winter.

The picture is a hint of the quilt. I can't wait to post the finished product! I encourage you to dive into a project from your mental file....it is so very rewarding!

Enjoy your day
